The 2021 Subaru Impreza Is Now at Colonial Subaru

At Colonial Subaru, we pride ourselves in providing unique Subaru vehicles that come with standard all-wheel-drive for maximum traction performance. This is especially great for slippery surfaces and cold-weather conditions. Among such vehicles is the Impreza, which is currently in its fifth generation of production with its 2021 model year. The 2021 Impreza is split into the base, Premium, Sport, and Limited models.

Under the hood of the 2021 Subaru Impreza is a 2.0-liter flat-four engine, which puts out 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque. Attached to the engine is a five-speed manual transmission for an exciting driving feel.

Suppose you go with the Premium model or higher. In that case, Subaru switches the five-speed manual with a continuously variable transmission for a smoother operation due to the gearless mechanism, and Subaru Intelligent Drive accompanies it for a more spirited drive. In addition, the CVT provides the best fuel estimates on the Impreza, at 28 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highways of Waterbury.

Although both the sedan and the hatchback can seat up to five people, the interior space varies by body style. The hatchback has 20.8 cubic feet of cargo space, which is 8.5 more cubic feet more than what the sedan offers. In addition, the hatchback, unlike the sedan, has foldable rear seats to maximize cargo space at 55.3 cubic feet, which is one of the largest in the compact car class.

Front-seat heating appears at the Premium level, and only the Limited gets leather seats. For a racing-style interior appearance, go with the aptly named Sport, which has unique sport cloth seats with red contrast stitching and aluminum pedal covers.

Comfort and Convenience

The Subaru Impreza utilizes the Starlink infotainment system, which combines Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free phone calling and audio streaming on any Brewster, NY street. You'll also have access to a four-speaker AM/FM stereo system, a USB port for playing media from mobile devices, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen. The Premium model gains a Wi-Fi hot spot for 4G LTE Internet access in the car, a trial subscription to SiriusXM Radio, proximity keyless entry with push-button start, and a second USB port.

At the Sport and Limited trim levels, the Impreza gains HD Radio for digital tuning, a larger 8-inch touchscreen (in place of the 6.5-inch), a navigation system, and a pair of USB ports in the rear to charge mobile devices. The Limited stands out, though, with its automatic climate control system.

For restraint and cushioning in the event of a crash, the 2021 Impreza gets a driver's knee airbag, two frontal impact airbags, two side impact airbags, and two side curtain airbags. Driver assistance is added at the Premium level with the EyeSight suite, which combines pre-collision braking and throttle management, lane departure, sway warning, and lane-keep assist.

Other standard safety features included are four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with brake assist and override, traction control and vehicle dynamics control, a rearview camera, and daytime running lights-together these features make you more aware of pedestrians and other drivers.

In addition to EyeSight, the Premium gains the Starlink Safety & Security package (which includes functions such as automatic collision notification, SOS emergency assistance, roadside assistance, remote start, and monthly vehicle health reporting). Active vector torque helps in better cornering and handling-unique to the performance-oriented Sport.

For peak driver assistance, go with the Limited, which gains reverse automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam technology, and blind-spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.
