Colonial Subaru is Excited to Support Roger and Ben Garbow's Coastal Tour

A father and son travel adventure circumnavigating the six New England states in their Subaru Crosstrek. The journey begins and finishes at our Colonial Subaru location!

Father and son love to travel and have been looking for a road trip to do together. Something challenging. Something that may not have been done before. They landed on a circumnavigation of New England, where they both live but have only explored a small portion of. They won't take the easy route. They'll seek out logging roads and dirt trails, plus sand, mud and possibly even late season snow. And interesting sites and unique eateries along the way. They'll also take turns driving and navigating.

Beginning and ending at Colonial Subaru in Danbury, on the New York/Connecticut border in lower Fairfield County, the team will head south to Greenwich and then Northeast following the CT coast and Long Island Sound. In Rhode Island, they'll hit the sands of East Beach on the way to the Audrain Auto Museum. They'll touch Cape Cod before heading up to Subaru of New England's HQ in Norwood, MA for a tour. The journey in total will approximately 1,700 miles!

The 2018 Subaru Crosstrek is a rare 6-speed manual version, and will be outfitted for what the team may encounter. The Vredestein Pinza tires will be mounted on a set of contrasting LP Adventure off-road wheels. There will be a fifth wheel and tire mounted on a rear carrier. Four high power driving lights mounted to a front bull bar will illuminate even the darkest northern Maine backroad. Tow hooks will be mounted front and rear.

A Thule roofbox will carry recovery boards, a tow strap, emergency blankets, a jerry can of extra fuel and other survival gear. An LP skid plate and bumper guard will be mounted to protect the underside of the vehicle from rocks while LP Adventure rock sliders will protect the rocker panels. The interior will feature a GPS tracker to capture the route and GoPro cameras to capture the conversation. MURS radios will be in each vehicle for communications as cell phone coverage is minimal or non-existent in the remote sections of the route.
