The History of Colonial Subaru

The Colonial Automobile Group was founded in 1992 and comprises five dealerships, Colonial Ford, Colonial Subaru, Colonial Mazda, Brewster Subaru, Granite Subaru, owned and operated by David and Darren Beylouni. As we celebrate over 30 years in business, we believe the family approach has helped us stand apart from the competition.

The Beylouni Family has a long history of serving the greater Danbury community dating back to 1948 when George Beylouni opened what would become a thriving grocery business and a landmark in the community. In 1964 George backed his son Raymond in the automobile business and launched Century Motors on South Street in Danbury, and the birth of a family business began. Over 60 years later, David R. Beylouni, President, and Darren R. Beylouni, Vice President, oversee the daily operations of the current dealerships. Their father, Raymond, served as Chairman of the Board until his passing in 2015. The entire Beylouni family and dealership staff are committed to upholding the business standard he created and honoring his legacy of philanthropic commitment to the community. 

The Beylouni Family, along with each of their dealerships, are also proud sponsors of numerous non-profit organizations and local charities, including The Ridgefield Playhouse, ACT OF Connecticut, ROAR- Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue, Catherine Violet Hubbard Foundation and Animal Sanctuary, C.H Booth Library, Newtown Babe Ruth League and most notably, multiple-year Titanium sponsors of Danbury Hospital and multiple-year Diamond sponsors of Ability Beyond.
