The Subaru Ascent slots in as the roomiest SUV in the entire Subaru vehicle lineup. From three rows of seating to a modernly versatile selection of comfort, tech, and safety features, the Subaru Ascent provides drivers with an excellent family hauler. The latest model year of the Subaru Ascent is a full carryover from the previous model year. The Subaru Ascent is available in six trim levels: Base, Premium, Onyx Edition, Onyx Edition Limited, Limited, and Touring.

Performance
The Subaru Ascent packs plenty of power under the hood to carry forward up to eight passengers and a full cargo area. Helping with the task of powering the Subaru Ascent is a 2.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that makes 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. This engine works with a continuously variable transmission. All-wheel drive comes standard with all trim levels of the Subaru Ascent.
Technology
Staying connected while on the go can be a breeze thanks to a modern slew of tech features. The base trim of the Subaru Ascent comes with a well-rounded set of standard features for local drivers to enjoy. The Base trim includes a 11.6-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a 6-speaker audio system, four USB ports, and Bluetooth connectivity. If you're interested in upping the tech, then you can look to higher trims for assistance. The Premium doesn't make any tech upgrades, so you'll have to at least step to one of the Onyx Edition versions of the Ascent, or, add tech as individual upgrades. The Onyx Edition Limited trim comes with a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a 360-degree camera system, an integrated navigation system, and an intercom system. The Touring trim adds a 120-volt power outlet along with a 180-degree forward parking camera system.
Interior Features
Comfort and convenience features abound with the Subaru Ascent thanks to substantial trim levels. The Base trim offers standard features like cloth upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, seating for eight, and a roomy cargo storage area. The Premium trim improves on the standard set of interior features by adding upgraded interior materials, heated front seats, rear climate controls, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped shift knob. The Premium seven-seater version also includes a power liftgate, a rear seat console, and proximity entry.
The Onyx Edition adds a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, water-repellent faux leather upholstery, and push-button start. The Onyx Edition Limited trim is far and away the most impressively equipped in terms of comfort. The Onyx Edition Limited trim includes second-row sunshades, heated second-row seats, a driver's seat with memory settings, and a power adjustable passenger seat. The Limited trim comes with a faux leather dash panel and leather upholstered seats. The Touring trim includes ventilated front seats, upgraded leather upholstery, and automatic wipers.
Safety
When it comes to safety, the Subaru Ascent comes with a whole bundle of driver assistance features as a standard offering. This standard bundle includes forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, adaptive headlights, trailer sway damping, and rear seat reminder technology. If you're interested in increasing driver assistance features, you'll have to opt for a higher trim level. The Premium trim adds blind spot warning with rear cross traffic warning and evasive steering assistance. Rear automatic braking is also an available drier assistance feature.
