Here at Colonial Subaru, we're proud to team up with Ability Beyond, our hometown charity partner through Subaru Share the Love. Together, we've raised more than $300,000 for Ability Beyond through our Subaru Share the Love partnership, and we're honored to continue to lend our support to this incredible organization.
What is Ability Beyond all about? Here's a look at what this organization has been up to:
Ability Beyond is a nonprofit organization that provides services to individuals in Connecticut and New York with disabilities. Their goal is to empower and build up all people, no matter their ability, and provide them with the services they need to thrive. Ability Beyond helps individuals by offering residential living programs, services to help young adults acquire necessary skills and experiences for a transition into adult life, employment programs, and so much more.
Ability Beyond has touched many lives, including that of an individual who struggled with substance abuse who flourished with help from Ability Beyond and went on to write a memoir about his life, addiction, and recovery. Ability Beyond has also been instrumental in helping individuals in their work program find jobs that help to give them a sense of pride and purpose.
Recently, Ability Beyond set up a recovery hub, which is an area dedicated to housing residents who tested positive (or are presumptive positive) for COVID-19 in an effort to flatten the curve and keep other residents safe. Subaru is helping to supply meals to staff working around the clock to help the hub operate smoothly.
