Spring is finally here! As you're cleaning out your closets, spring cleaning your houses, and getting the fresh air inside, don't forget to take care of your vehicle. Spring maintenance is an essential part of vehicle ownership, especially in the Danbury, Waterbury, and other northern locations. Not only does spring maintenance get rid of the grime from winter, but it also prepares your vehicle for the fun summer months ahead.
What Type of Spring Maintenance is Needed?
While there is a long list of routine maintenance items that should be performed often, there are a few spring specific maintenance services you should look out for. These include:
- Tire Changes and Inspections – If you had winter tires on your Subaru, now is the perfect time to switch them over for summer or all-season tires. Winter tires are excellent for the snow and ice, but shouldn't be left on your vehicle all summer long. If you've had all-seasons on your Subaru, you'll want to have them inspected and rotated to ensure even wear.
- Brake Inspections and Repairs – The winter can be hard on your brake system. Make sure to have it checked out, and if any red flags appear (squealing, shuddering, a spongy brake pedal), you most likely need a brake repair.
- Suspension Inspections – The Brewster, NY, and Norwalk area roads can be rough during the winter and early spring. If your car's suspension isn't working the way it should, make sure to have it checked out. You may also need to have your wheels aligned.
- And Much More!
